Replacement Illumination Module for Tamo & Tamo ProUpdated 2 days ago

The illumination module in the ark Tamo and ark Tamo Pro key safes has a 2 year warranty. If the lights in your key safe stop working within this 2 year period please contact us on 0330 363 0303 or email [email protected] to arrange a replacement illumination module to be sent to you under warranty. (Please note, Rev D version has a user replaceable battery, please replace the CR2032 coin cell battery when required with a high quality replacement such as Renata. Batteries are not covered by the warranty. See below for more information on Rev D).

The ark Tamo and ark Tamo Pro key safes can have their 2 year warranty extended to 5 years by registering your product with us. This extends the mechanical workings of the key safe only, the illumination modules in both Rev C and Rev D will remain under a 2 year warranty.

The Rev C illumination module is replaceable and instructions on how to do this are in the user guide for your key safe.

In Rev D, you simply need to change the CR2032 coin cell battery. You can find instructions for your specific Tamo in the Product Information section of our help centre.

Tamo Versions

There are currently 2 versions of both the ark Tamo Pro and ark Tamo key safes. Please see below to identify which version you have.

1. The Rev C version has a sealed illumination module. You will notice there is a green circuit board that is situated underneath the setting dials. The instructions to change the module are the same regardless of whether you have an ark Tamo or an ark Tamo Pro key safe.

Please go to All About the ark Tamo Pro Illumination Module and follow the instructions for Rev C - changing illumination module.

You can purchase a replacement illumination module for Rev C from our website.

2. The Rev D version has an illumination module with a user replaceable battery. The base of the module is visible between the code cover and the hinge. The instructions to change the battery are the same for both the ark Tamo and the ark Tamo Pro key safe.

To change the CR2032 battery in the Rev D version, please go to All About the ark Tamo Pro Illumination Module and follow the instructions for Rev D - changing the battery.

For Rev D version, we recommend using high quality batteries, e.g. Renata. The CR2032 coin cell battery is commonly available.

Please note, your ark Tamo or ark Tamo Pro key safe will continue to operate even if the battery has stopped working. In Rev C, the illumination module only powers the lights, in Rev D it is solely the coin cell battery that does this, the key safe itself is fully mechanical and will continue to open with the code you have set.

You will notice that the lights will gradually dim as the strength of the battery lessens until eventually the lights will stop illuminating altogether once the battery is completely flat.

NB. If your key safe is situated in a sunny position the lights will be difficult to detect during daylight hours.
