How to open the eSafe when the battery has died or does not have sufficient power
You will need the following items: -
- A power bank
- A cable to connect the power bank to the eSafe, the fitting into the eSafe is USB-C
- 4 x AAA batteries of high quality
- The admin code for your eSafe
- Small phillips head screwdriver
Please note, the following procedure will not charge the eSafe, it will allow you to access the unit in order to change the batteries.
Important: DO NOT plug the USB-C cable into the mains as this provides too much power which will damage the electronics rendering your eSafe unusable.
Process
- Attach the cable between the power bank and the port that you will find underneath the eSafe, below the silicone panel.
- You must enter your admin code immediately after you have plugged the USB-C cable into the port as this process provides a quick jump start purely to open the eSafe.
- Once the eSafe is open, immediately change the batteries.
- To do this remove the panel on the inside of the lid using the phillips screwdriver to remove the screws
- Remove the old batteries (dispose of following local guidance)
- Fit new batteries of high quality. You will require 4 x AAA batteries.
- Replace the panel over the battery compartment to prevent the batteries falling out.
Your eSafe is now ready for use. It will remember all the codes that you have programmed into it.
