There are 9.7 million possible code combinations you can choose from when setting your code.
The ark Tamo key safe is the world's first key safe to achieve the LPS1175 Issue 8 A10 security rating from Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), featuring specialist anti-saw pins.
This key safe is built to the police preferred specification, 'Secured by Design', the official UK police security initiative which certifies products proven to reduce crime.
Buttons clicking
On mechanical key safes, the clicking of the buttons confirms that the number has been entered and registered.
For the ark Tamo key safe, each button can be set up to 4 times in the code, therefore if that digit is set 4 times, it will click 4 times. You can reset the mechanism by pulling down the Clear/Reset button.
Can someone guess my code?
This is highly unlikely as that person would need to know how long your code was, what numbers are in your code and also how many times they needed to press each number.
The more secure you make your code, the less likely it is that someone would be able to guess it. This is one of the reasons that we say not to set only a 4 digit code and to avoid common codes such as a year of birth, just the same number 4 times (e.g. 2222) or sequential numbers (e.g. 12345).
Our recommendation is to set an 8 digit code with at least one of the numbers being repeated in the code. Examples of this would be codes such as: - 58994423, 11547778 or 19195252.
Stopping someone using your key safe
If you want to stop someone who has the code from opening your key safe, you will need to change the key safe code to a different combination. Just remember to give the new code to those that you want to be able to access your key safe such as your care provider. And keep a note of your new code somewhere safe as you will not be able to open your key safe without it.
You can change the code in your key safe as often as you wish.
